Hybrid cars are so last decade, says BMW, which has kicked its electric car project Project i into high gear. The automaker is concentrating its efforts on developing electric cars, believing the internal combustion engine is on its way out.

For a second I thought BMW was going to drop their hybrid car to be produced in the SC upstate. However, this seems to be a new project for a small less expensive vehicle. A google search of "Project i" yield results from an electric to an undefined hybrid. Seems that BMW hasn't shown it's cards yet.
