Electrical System/Headlight Problem
Earlier this month, while in Ks. I had to have my left headlamp replaced at +55,000 miles. The light was not covered under warranty. The cost of the lamp was 182.00.

Now as it happens, the right one is showing the same behavior (on when it's switched on, than goes out - comes on? Who knows?)

It seems, based on postings in greenhybrid.com that this is not a unique problem to me. Anyone else out there with the same problem?

The HID headlights are a known problem. I don't have them on my Prius and would not buy any vehicle that did. The new LED headlights should be better.

It would be a chalaging customization job at this time. The available 7-inch LED lamps

Will not fit the existing space and the 2010 Prius LED headlight assembly would be difficult and expensive to retrofit into earlier models.

OK. Thanks. I probably should have had the second headlight done in Ks also. They charged me 182.00 for the left.

Toyota did the next best thing to issuing a recall on this. I got a letter from them that, if I could supply the work invoice and the record of payment they would reimburse the difference between 150.00 and 300.00, or the difference between 150.00 and what I payed, up to 300.00.

Which means they're reimbursing me 30+ bucks.
