Civic II & tsb 08-014
I have made a couple of posts about this in, well you know, the other hybrid group :-)..I feel it is important to reach as many people about this as it is a significant improvement..
After driving a couple of weeks with this software flash, I am very impressed, most of the time 90% I can't even feel it go into autostop, nor can I feel it go back into IMA mode. When I can feel it, it is a very slight movement kind of like a normal automatic shifting into overdrive so, yes very slight.

The car seems smoother overall (how does one quantify that) but the lugging feeling while the engine is running below 7 mph, gone! thumps as it goes in and out of autostop, gone!!, thumps when it goes in and out of ev mode during a coast, yes gone!!!.

Mine is a 2007 and is listed on the TSB, when I asked about it, the dealer said there were no TSB's for my car, I produced the TSB and they fixed it. If you have a 2007 even a 2008 not listed on the TSB, complain about it, take the TSB with you, if they won't take care of it, call American Honda tell them what you want and why...even if you have to pay a couple hundred out of your pocket to get this done it is worth is.

Yes, to this point this is pretty much a copy & paste but, it was my original post so I think that is ok. I am adding, it does seem to make the A/C react faster, we have had one day when it was needed & I was able to set it a couple of degrees warmer...mind you, no scorchers yet but it was in the low 70's & I don't like to roll down my cool tinted windows ;-) for noise, dust, sound and security reasons.
Auto stop seems to kick on about a mile earlier...granted it is warmer in the morning but, still dipping into the 30's so, I suspect I won't know if it REALY made a difference in a/s till November.

I got the PCM update about a week ago and have noticed the "clunk" is gone. The car seems to be riding much smoother, but too early to tell if the mpg has improved...

It's been a week since the PCM update. My mpg after ~250 miles is 48.5 compared with ~43 for the previous tank's. Part of this increase is due to a different route I'm taking to work which eliminated one steep grade, but this doesn't account for the entire 5mpg increase. So, I would say this update was definitely worth the time & trouble.

I just got the 014 tsb done and the cvt feels great, but I now can get no more that 4 bars in my soc. I will only get 1 bar regen at max with a coast, and only for a moment. I can get full regen if I brake hard, but I also am not getting a assit. This is totally out of character for my car. The routes, temps, traffic are all the same as before the reflash yesturday. I am driving around in a car that drives like you have no assit 0 soc. Before the reflash I had only a few 0 assit becuase of low soc in 36k miles of driving. My mpgs are dropping yesterday 46mpg before reflash, and now down to 43.2.

Could the dealer have messed something up?

after 2 days the regen issue seems to be back to normal, and mpg's are going back up. With the reflash I had to relearn the new assit, and regen points. I did raise the tire pressure back up to 44, my dealer will always lower it to 32 psi no matter what I say. The oil is mobil 1 0-20

*****update******

The car is acting up again, with a soc of 4 bars in traffic I get no regen. I also get no assit. I will only get regen if I get upto 45 mph or on the highway, even then it is only 1 bar. If I get any assit I will get only 1 bar for a short time. Driving the car now is just the worst thing going. Before the 014 update I believe I got into a non assit mode only once or twice ever in 36k miles.

I have the appointment tomorrow for the "fart" repair, I hope they can unflash or fix the current issue.

Thanks
Brian
