Oil refinery fire -- impact on prices
http://www.reuters.com/article/marke...30285820090518

. . . "Some production has been shut in" at the 178,000 barrel per day (bpd) refinery on the Pennsylvania-Delaware border near Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania, Sunoco spokesman Thomas Golembeski said. The ethylene plant is shut.

. . .
U.S. Motor Gasoline Consumption 9,286,000 barrels/day (390 million gallons/day)
. . .
So a public announcement of a worst-case, 2% drop in gasoline production will cause how much of a price increase? The experiment begins just in time for the Memorial Day weekend.

Price here Parkersburg, WV jumped from 2.35 to 2.55 today. Will it increase again before Friday for the oil companies normal Memorial Day spike?
