| Two-bit fuel economy improvement . . . Every now and then you read an article and just have to shake your head in amazement: http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/...,1363635.story
. . . I had earlier this evening looked at a gasbuddy chart of prices over the past three years:Likewise, automobile fuel efficiency standards have reduced somewhat U.S. oil consumption, but in an unnecessarily costly manner, and they do nothing to reduce the miles we drive. Economists have estimated that a gasoline tax of just 25 cents a gallon would have saved as much oil as these fuel efficiency standards at one-third the cost to the economy. . . . http://www.GasBuddy.com/gb_retail_price_chart.aspx?city1=USA Average&city2=&city3=&crude=n&tme=24&units=us
Today, we are at $3.48 - $1.90 -> $1.58+ higher. I'm sorry but there are some claims that suggest someone hasn't looked out the dang window to observe what is going on. Bob Wilson |
