Any others?
My favourite is the Fisker, but the Tesla Model S is probably way more realistically priced.

Hi BlackLight,

I have actually been watching the Tesla Model S as well. I would love that car and my goal is to have on by 2015 as I don't make that much and need to save for the $50k car. My next car will be all electric. Hands down.

That is my preference also. My next car will be all electric if the vehicle will have a range that will allow me to commute to work and back for one day.

It's unlikely I'll trade my '06 Prius in on any new car. If for no other reason, as my wife reminded me, my car has the carpool stickers which are held very dear now. But that said I think I would go for one of the hybrid Ford products. Probably the Escape because we just carry a lot of stuff when we ride out summers.

Perhaps the first step is to characterize the requirements. Take a month and log your trips. Then analyze the data to understand the distances, passengers, and cargo carried. This will give a basis of estimate so the different electric cars can be evaluated.

Now I live in Dixie and an RV4 would meet our needs due to the cargo space provided we have a small trailer for a 'range extender.' Otherwise, we'd still need a Prius for long distance trips.
