That is my preference also. My next car will be all electric if the vehicle will have a range that will allow me to commute to work and back for one day.
It's unlikely I'll trade my '06 Prius in on any new car. If for no other reason, as my wife reminded me, my car has the carpool stickers which are held very dear now. But that said I think I would go for one of the hybrid Ford products. Probably the Escape because we just carry a lot of stuff when we ride out summers.
